Guidelines for authors

I. General information

  1. In Good Rhythm publishes review papers, preliminary reports, case studies, IEGM analyses, commentaries on world literature as well as conference reports, book reviews and other materials. The articles relate to the practice of medicine, with particular attention to their educational role. They should communicate to readers current, modern medical knowledge based on Evidence Based Medicine. In the event of using fragments from other publications in submitted work (including tables, pictures), the author shall obtain permission to reprint the paper of the cited author/publisher. Pictures / figures used in a paper must be accompanied by permission for their use.
  2. In Good Rhythm is not responsible for the statements, opinions and data contained in these paper or in advertising material.
  3. Presentation for publication of a paper describing experiments on humans is equivalent to a statement by the authors that the procedures followed were in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki (regarding medical ethics prohibiting the giving of the patient's name, initials or hospital record number). The authors of descriptions of such cases are required to not disclose the personal data of patients described, and in the case of photographs, obtain the patient's written consent to the publication of their image.
  4. Editorial staff reserve the right to correct stylistic and naming errors without the agreement of the authors. In the event of substantial revisions by the Editorial Staff, the author should read the final version of the print and accept it.

  6. Abbreviations should be explained at first occurrence in the text (including the abstract). Apart from exceptional circumstances, abbreviations should not be used in the title.
  7. The results of laboratory tests and the relevant standards and standard deviations should be expressed in units adopted by the International System of Units (SI).
  8. The authors of papers commissioned by the Editorial Staff receive a fee.

The structure of an initial report:

  1. Title - in Polish and English
  2. A structured summary - four paragraphs with headers in bold, min. 200 words in Polish and min. 200 words in English
  3. Keywords - in Polish and English, in total up to 10 expressions
  4. Introduction
  5. Methods
  6. Results
  7. Discussion of the methods and results
  8. Summary/Conclusions
  9. References
  10. Biographical note about the author/authors 

Papers should be written in Polish. Papers are peer-reviewed and qualified for publication by the Editorial Staff.
A paper work should fit onto 10-12 typed pages (including references) written font size 12 with double spacing and margins of 2.5 cm. 

The structure of literature review article:

  1. Title - in Polish and English

  6. Summary

Structure of a case study/record of an IEGM analysis/commentary on world literature:

  1. Title - in Polish and English
  2. Keywords - in Polish and English, in total up to 10 expressions
  3. Introduction
  4. Chapters titled by the author
  5. Summary
  6. References 

Papers should be written in Polish and/or English. Papers are reviewed by the Scientific  Board and qualified for publication by the Editorial Staff.
A paper should not exceed 5 pages, including references, tables and figures, written in font size 12 with double spacing and margins of 2.5 cm. 


Title

It should be concise and convey well its subject. 

Author

The first name, surname and affiliations of all authors and correspondence address must be complete, correct and current. The author who sends a paper is at the same time the person to whom all correspondence related to the publication of the paper will be sent.
That person also has the obligation to provide information to the co-authors about the status of the paper and any changes.
The authors are requested to enclose a brief biographical note (approximately 50 words). If a paper has more than one author, please indicate the percentage share of individuals in the creation of the article. The Editorial Staff undertake to maintain the confidentiality of the personal data of authors and reviewers.
Authors are required to provide information on what kind of article they are sending to the editorial staff (original academic article, literature review article, case analysis, record of an IEGM analysis). 

Tables

They should be numbered consecutively with Arabic numerals and attached as separate files or at the end of a paper after the references. Each table should be accompanied by a title and corresponding explanations.
Figures and photographs should be numbered in Arabic numerals and each should be attached in a separate file. The location in the text should be indicated for each figure (photograph). Figures and photographs should be saved in one of the following formats: *.tif, *.jpg, *.gif; resolution of at least 300 dpi. The titles of figures (photographs) should be placed at the end of a paper after the references.

References

This should include a list of all of the bibliographic sources in the text, in the order of appearance in the paper. Please specify:

  1. the sequence number of items
  2. the surname of the author or authors and the first letter of their forenames
  3. the title of the work and the journal title using mandatory abbreviations, year, volume, start and end page
  4. for separate books, the title and publisher, place and year of publication.
